The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors. It’s made up of the 15 minimum standards that should be covered if you are ‘new to care’ and form part of induction program.

It involves completion of study and demonstration of skills/practice around the 15 Care Standards in line with Skills for Care which are: 

  • Understand your role
  • Your personal development
  • Duty of care
  • Equality and diversity 
  • Work in a person-centred way
  • Communication
  • Privacy and dignity 
  • Fluids and nutrition
  • Basic health support 
  • Awareness of mental health/dementia and learning disabilities 
  • Safeguarding adults  
  • Safeguarding children
  • Infection prevention and control 
  • Health and safety   
  • Handling information 

summerhouse-training-courses-gloucester Program Requirements:

You will be allocated an Assessor who will plan with you how you will gain knowledge and understand and generate evidence to show gained learning and skills against each standard.

summerhouse-training-courses-gloucester Program Duration and Cost:

Duration: Learners will be required to participate in a 12 to 15-week program

Cost: £150 per learner
